More Visitors...

We were so excited that Grandma Ross, Aunt Melinda, Uncle Matt, Madeline and Meredith could make the trip down this weekend to meet our newest Ross addition! The kids had so much fun playing with each other - makes me wish we lived closer...Of course, Grandma couldn't leave without presenting Louie with his first STEELERS outfit, which made daddy and Edwin VERY HAPPY...LOL!!!

Ross Family of 5!

We are so excited to introduce:
Louie David Ross
Born Aug 13 at 12:30pm
7 lbs 15 ozs, 20.5 inches

So, we tried all week to have Louie while Grandma Ross was in town, but he had other plans. We had to be at the hospital at 2:45am on Monday morning to start our induction...too early! Thanks to Grandma Nikki for spending the night and taking Monday off work to be at home with kids all day.  The doctor broke my water a little before 10am and I got my epidural at 10:30am. By 12:15pm, I knew it was time to get the show on the road. The doctor checked and said it was time to get the room ready...she said, let's have a "practice push" to make sure you remember what to do...and she started counting "1...2...3...STOP..." She got suited up and said we'd have a baby during the next push...and sure enough...Louie David was born at 12:30pm on the dot. He was perfect from the start! Easy delivery...and so far a wonderful baby!!!

VACATION PICTURES

Our trip to Ocean City, N.J!
The week was filled with beautiful weather, fantastic food, yummy desserts(ice cream every night), and lots of beach time!!  The girls were so bold and went boogie boarding all by themselves.  The water was bath time warm which is GREAT for Jersey. Meredith briefly avoided the water when she realized that crabs live in it.  HAHA.
We treated them to the arcade one night.  I must say that they are getting talented with air hockey.  As long as they keep their fingers away from the edge. :) Madeline was thrilled when she scored!
This year the girls wanted to try a different Putt Putt course...the one with the singing gorillas out front. Little did we know that there was a "scary" doll lurching in the background of one hole.  Meredith was petrified!!!! Yet managed to pose for the picture for ONE second. I am serious, she was shaking ...that is how scared she was of this talking monstrosity.
Guess who wasn't scared this year of Mr. Peanut????  Yep, that's right! Meredith is over being afraid of the dressed up characters on the Boardwalk and let us take 4 pictures of her with the various (creepy) costumed people. Madeline would NOT go anywhere near any of them until Matt bribed her with an ice cream cone so she posed with Mr. Peanut only.  I was happy being behind the camera. Yikes!
We took two disposable cameras with us. I can't wait to see these masterpieces after they get developed (hint hint Matt). Click here for all the photos we have thus far .

week in review

To follow up with our July 4th activities!!  It was an awesome holiday this year with perfect weather, exciting fireworks, and the weekend was virtually free for us.  We traveled up to Toledo to visit with Peg and Anna at their new house.  Madeline and Meredith always are up for playing new toys!  Anna was a bit shy at first, but she warmed up to the girls by the end.
The fireworks were back on this year in Jody and Matt's development so we hopped on over to their house.  They threw a July 4th BBQ bash in their backyard (the seating area for the fireworks...how convenient!).  We definitely did NOT go hungry!! Jody tried out a new recipe :  brownies with bacon in it.  This confirms that everything is BETTER with bacon :)  YUM!! It was sooo hot that the girls had on their swimsuits the entire time we were there.  I was kind of jealous.  HAHA.
This weekend we celebrated Aunt Megan's birthday at our house.  The rain went away, the temps were perfect, now all we needed was company.  Hmm....  Then we get the call from Betsy and family that their wheel was seconds from falling off their vehicle which was en route from New York to Canfield.  WHOAH!  Accident avoided, but arrival delayed.  It worked out perfectly as NONE of us were even hungry at dinner time....I wonder why.....see below.

The dinner of porkloin, roasted veggies, potatoes, fruit salad, and caramel pie was delicious!  Way to go Matt!!  (for all but the pies).  Now if only I can get my house husband to make desserts...hmm... I asked the girls to look at each other lovingly so that Megan could snap a photo, but Meredith was very resistant to this not-so-candid-shot.  Still is cute ;)

Because Matt was waiting for the propane tank to finally be "empty", he decided to park his butt directly in front of the grill and watch it like a hawk. Everyone else was on the deck visiting.  You antisocial host you.
Today was our church's party , so we headed on over there for the festivities.  Which included...yikes....a CLOWN!!!  Do the girls look frightened here??  I was in the next parking lot using my zoom lens to get this shot.  HAHAHA.  Just kidding.
There was a dunk tank that we hurled softballs at.  My first ball hit the target, but my wimpy throw didn't set it off!  I was burned!
Matt's first ball hit it right on and I was able to catch the kid halfway dunked in the water.

The girls even got really brave and climbed the rock wall!!!  They didn't make it too far, but Madeline almost made it to the top on her third attempt.

After our excitement at the church, we headed to the pool of course to cool off.  The pool manager was messing with the sprinklers in the shallow end turning them so high that I almost was soaked.  I was in my chair in the grass no where near them.  All the kids thought that it was awesome to have this huge showering of water!!!  It looked like a lot of fun. (They are the ones sitting down)
Hey Aunt Mindy, did I do a great job giving u an update on the M&Ms hahaha??
