JANUARY 2013

Surprisingly, Madeline has not had any real homework yet.  This seems ridiculous, but we were a little excited to have a project to help her to do.  (me and matt= nerds! who get excited for homework) She picked the topic of when dinosaurs lived. She needed to look up info (she and daddy used Google , of course) and then have a visual aide. Matt felt the need to make sure that the periods were "scaled" correctly.  Yep, he whipped out the ruler! I went to the dollar store and bought the supplies :) How fun!
January 19th was our big combo birthday celebration of the girls.  Thank you to all that were able to make it!!  Thank yous will be coming in the mail. :)  We were again impressed with the Das Dutch Haus cake.  They did an AWESOME job mimicking Victorious.
The girls were really excited to play with the cousins too!  I think Lyla is enjoying some GIRLIE time !
Uncle Marty photo-bombing Aunt Megan's photo!  (I got another one w/o him )
Dinner with dad was last week.  Matt, lucky daddy, had TWO girls to escort this year.  They were so excited!  I got to hear all about it when they got home.  Sounded like a nice event.
As of last weekend, we now have an EIGHT year old in our house!!  Madeline celebrated (again!) her big day with plenty of activity.  Started out going to another girl's birthday party at Build A Bear in the morning.  What a great gift for Madeline to get :)
Meredith had her FIRST cheerleading event on Saturday.  Her outfit is perfect and of course she is great !  Her face was turning red b/c she was shouting so loud.  I think she enjoyed the fact that she was allowed to yell!!!  Papa and Grandma were also there to watch her cheer!
After her cheering, we were off to our third event for the day, Madeline's FIRST basketball game!
Madeline was seriously nervous about screwing up.  Finally, she is realizing that it isn't a big deal.  This league is about having fun, learning the game, and having an equal amount of play time.  It is abundantly clear that she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body.  Rebounding and stealing the ball are not in her nature.  Darn.  We hope to instill these fine qualities in her by the end of the season.  Papa and I were on the sidelines shouting away....SHOOT!!  RUN!!!  GET THE BALL!!! Is this embarassing for her?  Oh well.
Finally, after the game, we are now able to celebrate the big '8' birthday for Madeline.  She made an excellent dinner selection being Salsita's.  Yum! We all got super stinky before returning to our house to open gifts and eat cookies 'n cream ice cream cake.
Now we are all celebration-ed out.  Glad we get a bit of a break for a while.  Mindy is the next birthday right?  Are you having a party?  HAHA.
