week in review

As you know, I am not a big Ohio Edison right now b/c of that rust box thing. Yes, you will get to see it for Easter if you are coming to our home. Ugh! To add to the misery (or as punishment for our complaints, you make the call), we were without power for 4 hours one night. The girls and I were watching something lame I am sure, and zap! There went the power. I immediately shouted, "CURSE YOU OHIO EDISON!!!". The girls were so afraid of having no power. Meredith wouldn't stop talking. Madeline was rolled up in the fetal position covering her ears. What a sight! Meredith asked me if the neighbor's electricity was out too and if "the guy" has to come to their house too. She was so concerned about "the guy" and when he was arriving and whether they would be awake or not. Of course, this happened at 7:30 at night.

The highlight of this story is when they finally did arrive (what were they waiting for ??? no trees in their way this time), 3 trucks arrived with 3 men. 2 of the men watched (youtube?) how-to-videos on a laptop while the 3rd man kicked our rust box. Seriously!

p.s. the power went out again at 5 am , an hour before I had to wake up for work. What a night!

The week did improve with the celebration of my birthday! We had a great dinner out and gifts afterwards. Got all my Twilight books now, thank you , Mary Lou!! (Check out my Edward card.... plays Twilight's music.....thanks, Kari!!!).

Matt and I had an adult event this week with the neighbors! Wow. We saw the comedian Rodney Carrington . I was blowing my nose (a.k.a. I was laughing a lot which causes my nose to run!).

When I picked Madeline up from school on Friday, she carried out her lifesize paperdoll. She INSISTED that we buckle her into the van, too. :)

Aunt Megan arrived for the Easter treat making weekend. Saturday morning we were working from 9 until 5. I was soooo tired of standing. We made over 100 chocolate eggs filled with vanilla buttercream , almond buttercream, oreo, coconut cream, Clark, peanut butter, or chocolate truffle. We also made some suckers and solid chocolate figures. We did all of this AFTER coloring the eggs. So, come for a visit and take some chocolate with you.
