The start of the school year has brought a flurry of activity at our house. Even though Meredith only goes to school half a day, we are still able to assign Matt some "home" work to do. By we , I mean ME. HAHA. It is so nice to get something accomplished for a change. Matt has removed the wallpaper, painted, bought and installed new towel racks in BOTH upstairs bathrooms. We had leftover blue paint from our bathroom and decided to use the remainder in the small bathroom. What a difference it is to not see pink, hideous floral. WOW.
I went spray paint happy on the fixtures. How fun!
Matt's next project is getting rid of our bedroom paint. You know, the lovely wall of PINK! We bought the paint during Sherwin Williams big sale. Planning ahead...are you proud? The wall is going from pink to purple. I know, another pastel. I like purple though! Three of the walls are going to be gray, and the fourth is the deep purplish gray. I can't wait to get started on this project (meaning Matt to get started).
The girls have been loving school. Still not a lot of homework yet, which disappoints Matt. I told him to come up with his own homework flashcards. It could bring back his childhood Alex Trebek days.
I decided to once again try to take the girls pictures instead of going to JCP (because I simply don't have the time). Here are a few of my favorites, but feel free to click here to see my whole September album.
Funny of the week: while at church on Saturday, Meredith was talking loudly and moving around a lot. I told her that Jesus was watching her as I pointed to the crucifix above the altar. She looked at me and said, " well, he isn't the real Jesus". Ok then.

legos!
Posted by
Melinda
Well, Matt just enjoyed playing with his childhood legos again. The enormous tubs saved by Mary Lou even have the direction pamphlets in Damn good condition. Matt built the helicopter tonight ....which apparently took too long as the girls have jumped ship in this legos building event. :)
He literally sifted through a tub (shes long time) to find ONE dumb, tiny, little piece to be the light on the helicopter propeller. That is dedication.

Stats Confirm Growth

Louie's Current Stats:
Weight: 9lbs 9ozs (50th percentile)
Head: 15 inches (50th percentile)
Height: 22 inches (75th percentile)
Doctor pleased with growth and impressed by how stable he is with holding his head up. Cannot believe how fast this past month has went...seems like he was just born. Most popular question - is he sleeping...my answer NO...but I'm hoping that will start getting better...
Development to look forward to...he should start smiling (on purpose) VERY soon! Can't wait!!!
More pics coming soon...

Betty's Marbles 2012
Couldn't be more proud of our Betty's Marbles team this year...with all that we have going on (new baby and all), we did it!!! It was a perfect day for the walk and we were once again recognized as one of the top fundraising teams...so awesome!!! My heart smiles because we have so much support for this cause that is so dear to me. Grams was smiling today...and I could see it in Lyla's squinty-Betty-eyes...
Grams...your marbles are still here and we will never forget you! We continue to fight this awful disease and hope it keeps your memory alive...
Thanks to everyone who has shown us support this year!!!
We'll be back again next year and hope you'll consider being a part of our success again!!!
1 Month Louie

So, I'm not sure that Louie has my center-of-attention attitude that Lyla obviously inherited...HE HATES PICTURES!!!! I've tried several times to get 1-month photos and can't get anything good...perhaps he'll cooperate for month 2! He goes for his 1-month check up this next week, so I'll post his stats following that!
