WEEK IN REVIEW

Happy 4th of July!!! I assume you are oppressed by the heat as we are today. WOW! Thank goodness the wind was blowing. What an exciting and fabulous weather week we had. The girls and I had to avoid the house on Friday ... POOL TIME! We had a great time and stayed for 3 hours. As long as you go with snacks , these girls can last forever. Meredith NEVER wants to leave the water. Thankfully, the whistle blows every hour to give me a 15 minute break from the water. The girls were very excited that it was haircut time. Meredith had her first official haircut. It was more like a shape up. We are still awaiting her hair to grow. :) Madeline's hair had been growing out for a while, so we shaped it back up again as well. They look so cute. Meredith was so proud to walk with the stylist and hop up on the tractor. What a big girl!
Saturday morning we were off to visit my dental school friends and their daughters in Toledo. We arrived at 3 pm and the girls played and played and played until 10 pm. They spent most of the time running around in their swimsuits for the occasional dip into the kiddie pool . They get along so well (what a difference than playing with boys). We had a cookout for dinner followed by marshmallow roasting that evening. Grandma had sent down some glow in the dark wands which they loved! They used them to get lightning bugs and to stick them down their pants to make their butts glow. You know!?
Today,we headed over to visit our high school friend, Peg. This was our first meeting of her daughter, Anna. We are pretty sure that her cheeks have beaten the size of Edwin's. I know, it seems unimaginable, but she has some biggies! Anna seemed to really like the girls. Madeline and Meredith were content playing with her on the blanket. Peg has a floating dock in her backyard abutted to a lake. We sat out there throwing bread to attract fish to the surface (and roasted our butts off.... so hot!).
After the trip back to Canfield and some much needed showering, we dropped the girls off at Grandma's for a sleepover!! Matt has signed up for a 4 mile run through Canfield tomorrow morning. I have to work, so that is why we needed Grandma! Whew. Yes, you read correctly, I have to work tomorrow. BOO!
**************if you noticed the wound on Madeline's chin, it is from an ungraceful chin dive at Handel's on Friday night. We were celebrating the return of Grandma!
