THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM ..HAHA
The girls were so excited to see Dave, Mindy, and Edwin this weekend. They actually arrived Thursday evening to get ready for the relative gathering for Grandma's birthday. On Friday, Mindy and I spent the day putting together a scrapbook of memories from Mary Lou's relatives and friends. We were focused and committed in getting this completed in one sitting. WE DID IT! It turned out nicely. We even surprised Madeline at school with Aunt Mindy and Edwin picking her up. HA! As we were leaving , Meredith and Madeline were holding Edwin's hands leading him out of school. I heard a splat! I turned around and saw Madeline's classmate puking on the floor. GROSS!! I am happy to say that the kids were walking fast enough that we were beyond the splash zone. Mindy on the other hand was behind her.... and well, she was lucky she didn't puke too :) Of course I was asking, "did you play with her today? were you near her? did you TOUCH her?". I didn't want Madeline to get it for the gathering and pass it to people > ** you know we have had situations in the past**Friday night we were treated to Salsita's for dinner by Grandma. YUM! Afterwards, we came back to our house for a little dance party with our new Wii game. It is sooo tiring, but the girls are so funny to watch. We even had Matt and Dave do a dance. I have a video , but I was told not to post it. Instead, I will be including this action photo :) *** check out Edwin admiring Matt's skills !
Saturday, Matt and Dave decided to do a 5K race in Poland. The weather actually cooperated so they really had a good run. Dave did a bit more than a 5K as he followed a small group who left the actually race route. I think he was just showing off that he could run a few more miles and still beat Matt. HAHA!
For Mary Lou's gathering , her siblings, mother, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friend showed up at our house by chance :) Again, the rain was over and we got to spend the entire evening OUTSIDE!! It was a great evening for all especially for Mary Lou who got to hear everyone's special memories of her. Madeline and Meredith were just so excited to play, play, play with their cousins. Talk about a tired, dirty mess those two were at the end of the night.
Madeline lucked out and got herself a brand new bike from Sarah. She is so looking forward to riding it, but we need to get some training wheels for her.
Edwin was torn between crawling on the (dangerous) playset and watching the big boys play basketball. I think the inner boy is going to take over soon! He and Meredith did like to play some bubbles.
We kept kidding Grandma that a stripper was planned for the night. Great Grandma Mueller looked disgusted by the idea. Of course it was a joke, but Edwin decided to make it come true! For a complete view of pictures , click HERE.
We ended up at Bob Evan's this morning for some brunch with Grandma, Dave, Mindy, and Edwin. The next time that we will see them will be for Edwin's 2nd birthday in June. We can't wait. Madeline said it is a really long time. Soon we will have another little Ross around us. Can't wait!
