A day of soccer

8:24 a.m. - Dad and kids wake up together in Grandma's guest bed (Lyla joined after pooping herself awake in the crib around 6) realizing they'd have to rush through the morning routine to make game #1 on time.

9:30 a.m. - First soccer of the game of the day, Meredith's. No score is kept, but we're fairly certain her side finishes with a few more goals.

11:30 a.m. - Tacos.

1:00 p.m. - Second soccer game of the day, this time it's Madeline's turn. Again, no score is kept. Didn't keep specific count, so we're not quite sure if her side was outscored by single or double digits.

2:45 p.m. - Third soccer game of the day, this time the televised variety, the Champions League final while Grandma prepares dinner. No scoring until Bayern in the 83rd minute. Drogba equalizes for Chelsea in the 88th minute. No scoring in extra time (including a penalty kick save by Chelsea). The match goes to PKs, Drogba hammers home the final one, giving Chelsea a 4-3 advantage and the win.

6:30 p.m. - Not a game, just some running around in Grandma's backyard. This time Edwin, Lyla and Sarah join Madeline and Meredith in the soccer action. However, Lyla seems more interesting in sitting on the ball and waiting for it to hatch than kicking it. And Edwin's preferred method of obtaining the ball is pity-whining as opposed to, you know, running after it and getting it himself.

9:07 p.m. - Lyla to bed, Edwin and Dad shortly thereafter.
