Garbage Day

Trying to get some consensus on garbage day ethics...

OK, let's say trash day is Monday. That means the garbage pick-up occurs sometime between 6 and 8 on Monday morning. Since there's a chance of the pick-up occurring before you wake up, obviously, it must be acceptable to take your trash to the curb sometime Sunday evening. Correspondingly, since the pick-up may occur after you leave for work, it must also be acceptable to bring the cans in from the curb after you get home in the evening.

That leads to my question...well, 2 questions, actually:

1. How early, on the evening before garbage day, is it acceptable to take your cans to the curb?
and
2.How late, on the evening of garbage day, is it acceptable to bring your empty cans in from the curb?

our condo association has a rule, not just "etiquette"--put it out no earlier than 6 pm the night before and can must be put inside garage by 6pm the day of pickup

If you are our neighbors (the Queens, not like anyone here knows them), then you fly by your own rules. This means your trash is out by 8 am Sunday, for a 9am Monday pickup. Can't be too early! And you must also take the trash out in heels. Seriously.
