Adam Carolla, today on his podcast, discusses the futility of the NFL's code of player conduct ever effecting change in the actions of its players:
A lot of these crimes are...at the club, get drunk, guy pushes me, I take a swing at him. How do you prevent that? That's not premeditated. It's not like these guys are international jewel thieves.
